Lynn’s Recollections & Reflections #17 – Fast Forward to Today

Don’t worry

I will head back to the 80s next week and share what happened after I decided I needed to leave.

However since this is a long Holiday weekend, I decided to hold off for a week as many people might not be reading this post.

Where I Am Today

If you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time, you know that I obviously remarried. I got really lucky the second time around.

Not only is he my partner and friend, he is the handiest man in the whole world. He puts up with all of my decorating, redecorating, renovating, and re-renovating that happens at this small house.

He’s getting grumpier about it in his old age but I can understand that. We both feel like in our heads we are 29 but our bodies sometimes feel like we are 99.

I Had More Kids

We had two kids together both girls! Less than 3 months after we were married I was pregnant with Annie and she was born right before our 1st Anniversary.

Kenny was so happy to finally have a sibling!

Annie wasn’t especially happy to have another baby in the family

Keith is a great Stepdad to Kenny even though we had a few years that weren’t all that easy.

I’ll talk more about the kids as my story progresses.

For now, I just wanted to share that they are all grown and happy. One is getting married, one is having our first grandchild and the other is living her best life in her first adult apartment. She just started a new job and is thriving.

Where I’m at Today

They say that women are the happiest in their 60s and I would never have dreamed that would be true if you asked me 20 or even 10 years ago but I’m here to report, that at least for me, I’ve never been happier.

I’m able to fill my days doing all the things I love and talking about it on my blog. Bonus, I actually get paid to do it!! It probably won’t last forever but neither will I and I love that it fills my days and keeps my mind sharp. (most of the time)

My Ideas

I actually have so many ideas that I worry that I won’t actually get them all done and committed to print. But this is supposed to be an upbeat post so enough of that.

Happy Labor Day

When I write it all down, while time seems so fleeting, I’m reminded that I’ve done a lot in my life. Some have been crazy and difficult but for the most part, there has been joy!

Next week I will head into a pretty dark time but the good news is, I came out of it and I actually look at it now as something that truly shaped who I am today.

Every experience teaches us lessons and I look back now on each experience as an important piece of my life.

I hope you are having a great weekend!

Peace & Love,
