Latest At Living Large: I’m in Texas

Let’s start with the most exciting news! I got a new car 🙂

“Handy” has been wanting me to get a new car for some time, and he’s been doing his research. My trusty Honda CRV with 130,000 was probably good for 100,000, but she was probably worth some $$ as a trade-in and there were some practical reasons why we needed a new car.

When our kids are visiting, we can’t fit everyone into either of our vehicles, so having a third row would be nice. That was my #1 reason for getting a new car. “Handy” had a laundry list of things that were important to him

  • A Hybrid that didn’t need to be plugged in
  • High Safety rating because I drive a lot (long road trips)
  • Auto open back hatch
  • 3rd Row Seat
  • 0% Interest
  • The list goes on!

I don’t advise taking a 1000-mile road trip with a brand-new car that you’ve only driven to the grocery store once.

I had to stop a few times to read the instruction manual. Things like how to use the cruise control. How to turn on the windshield wipers.

The latest white SUV with black trim and roof rails, featuring a boxy design and modern front grille, is parked on a plain white background.

This Week’s Events

I’m in Dallas and my plan is to have a lot of “Harrison-Grandma Time”.

But that’s not all I’m going to do. I’m also going to visit with one of my best High School Friends who has lived here in Dallas since the 80s. My Friend Michele from Vintage Home Designs and I are doing a couple of things together. We are going to do a day of shopping in McKinney, TX, and we are also going with Annie to “Leanne Morgan Live”. I’m so excited.

Keith will fly down at the end of the week, and we will drive home together. He says he would like to not have projects when he comes down here but I hear him plotting on the phone with Annie about what she needs him to do when he’s down here. He also snuck a saw into my car before I left. 🤔

I’m always anxious for the next upcoming season. Christmas is the Season where I work the hardest to make it magical. If you’re looking for some inspiration you can find it here.

Behind the scenes

Hi, I’m Lynn

I traded corporate life for cozy living and now share how to make small spaces feel beautifully intentional.

With a love of vintage finds, organized chaos (emphasis on organized), and a handy husband who builds my wild ideas, I’m here to show that living large isn’t about square feet—it’s about heart, style, and good bones.

An older woman in a summer capsule wardrobe—white shirt, blue overalls, and gardening gloves—stands on grass, digging with a shovel among lush green plants and pink flowers. Trees and a white trellis frame the vibrant outdoor scene.
