Latest At Living Large: It’s Almost Fall

It’s my Birthday today! I don’t technically have birthday’s anymore, but Handy and Emma have been treating me nicely all weekend!

Even tho it’s in the high 80s here, it will be September soon! We are supposed to get a cool front coming through, and I can’t wait. I love Fall – It’s my absolute favorite season, when the days are sweater weather and the nights are crispy and cold.

Handy and I like to open the windows in the Fall and sleep in the cold with a huge quilt over us. It’s not great for my allergies, but I put up with it for the coziness of Fall.

I’m completely decorated for the season and you get the first sneak peek at my house.

A white corner bookshelf displays vintage books, potted plants, framed photos, a clock, truck figurine, and decorative plates. On the cabinet below are three small pumpkins. The latest lamp, table, and wall art create a cozy living room vibe.

This Week’s Events

I’m leaving for Dallas on Thursday. I’ll make my usual stop in Kansas City and stay with my friend Diane from South House Designs. We will also be meeting up with Amy from Amy Sadler Designs. It actually is sort of business trip as I’m visiting a candle company to discuss a potential custom “Living Large in A Small House” candle.

Then on to Dallas to see my Annie & Tommy and my sweet grand baby, Harrison. In Dallas, I’m not only going to visit with one of my best high school friend. We will be seeing each other twice in less than a month, as we will be headed to California at the end of September to meet up with everyone from our Mastermind Group.

I might be MIA for a week or so here and there!

Latest On The Blog

I’m always anxious for the next upcoming season. Christmas is the Season where I work the hardest to make it magical. If you’re looking for some inspiration you can find it here.

Things That I Found Interesting This Week

  • VIZZ is the first aceclidine-based eye drop solution designed to relieve age-related farsightedness. The drops slightly constrict the pupil, allowing up to ten hours of clear vision – without reading glasses. Clinical studies confirm good tolerability. VIZZ is expected to be available in the U.S. by the end of 2025. Where do I sign up!
  • In Mataró, Catalonia, Spain, a pilot project is using around 300 goats to create natural firebreaks. The animals eat underbrush and thorny vegetation, reducing the risk of wildfires. Traditional livestock grazing is being revived, with shepherds receiving compensation for their work. The project is part of an EU-funded program addressing the growing wildfire threat in Southern Europe caused by climate change. Genius! I hope the west coast of North America is paying attention.
  • An Australian hospital network has teamed up with a local dairy to develop a special kind of ice cream enriched with essential nutrients like vitamin B12 and D3. Designed specifically for people in palliative care, the dessert aims to boost appetite while bringing comfort and joy. The idea came directly from hospital staff who wanted to improve patients’ quality of life through taste and nourishment. Love that Australia is being proactive with their elderly citizens to help them feel better!

Behind the scenes

Hi, I’m Lynn

I traded corporate life for cozy living and now share how to make small spaces feel beautifully intentional.

With a love of vintage finds, organized chaos (emphasis on organized), and a handy husband who builds my wild ideas, I’m here to show that living large isn’t about square feet—it’s about heart, style, and good bones.

An older woman in a summer capsule wardrobe—white shirt, blue overalls, and gardening gloves—stands on grass, digging with a shovel among lush green plants and pink flowers. Trees and a white trellis frame the vibrant outdoor scene.

A dark blue background with a subtle, wavy abstract line pattern running across the center, reminiscent of the flowing creativity often found when living large in a small house.
