Latest From Living Large: New School Year

While I don’t have any kids still at home, I still think about the end of August as a reset time. Time to create a routine again and get back on a schedule. I’ve always been someone who thrives on routine and schedules, but I’m having to learn how to be a little more flexible. However, I still am a creature of habit and am happiest when I’m following my timeline.

A woven basket of flowers, styled with the latest trends, sits on a blue checked tablecloth in a lush garden setting.

What’s Been Happening This Week

This week was a week of routine! Finally! I was able to get all of my scheduled blog posts out and also a new YouTube video. I’m feeling rather accomplished. The greenhouse looks so cute, and I’m obsessed with the new rug I have in there.

The garden is overflowing, and I need to figure out what to do with all the produce. I fear I won’t have time for canning and preserving this year, so I’m thinking of putting out a little table and offering our bounty to neighbors.

Guess what? One of our chickens is starting to lay eggs. She hasn’t gotten the gist of laying them in the nesting box. We’ve only found one in there, so it’s been a bit of an egg hunt every day to see where she has left her little present for us. The eggs start out tiny and get bigger as the hens get a little older. Early in their laying is when we also see double yolks and whole eggs inside a whole egg. Their bodies aren’t releasing things in the right order yet.

I also have a science project going on with Harrison. We had an egg turn into a caterpillar in our butterfly cage, and in the last two days it has become a chrysalis. The timing is perfect because it will probably become a butterfly by next weekend, and he will be back to see it. Fingers crossed!

What I’m Up to Next Week

Next week will be a very busy week for me. I need to be all caught up with my blog work, as I have to watch Harrison most of the following week, and the week after that, I have two good friends coming to visit. One from Dallas and one from LA. They both live in the most amazing homes, so you can guess how busy I am trying to make everything perfect (ish). The three of us are going to go to one of my favorite vintage markets. It’s the Found Cottage Mercantile Market. This will be my third time but the first time for my two friends. We are all bloggers and vintage collectors, and we are hoping we run into some of our blogging buddies on our little expedition to Michigan.

A peek into my life

Lynn’s Recollections & Reflections

I have a little series that started out as a journal of sorts for my kids to have about my life. It became something more.

It’s a place where I share a very personal look into my life and believe it or not have helped some people get out of unhealthy situations.

It’s a work of fiction as it relates to others as it is my recollections of events. I hope you enjoy!
