Once the water receded and the chicks were big enough, we moved them outside into their new home.
Being novices at this we soon realized that the small tub in the laundry room would only work for about a week as the little hens were growing very fast. My Handy Husband built a new home for them and they took up residence in our dining room.
Living on the river has it’s challenges especially when the water decides to rise and spill over the banks into our yards. This spring was a historic flood and we had plans to bring home chickens right in the middle of this mess.
The Chicken Coop Plans are on their way (saw them on Pinterest via Heather Bullard) and we will be picking up our first chicks on April 24th.
