Latest At Living Large: It’s August
Just yesterday it was May 15th and I was planting tender seedling in my garden. At least it seems like it. This summer is just flying by.
I took the month of July off from blogging to focus on organizing my little business and work in the yard. I got a little of the blog work done but the bulk of my time was spent outside.
We built a new greenhouse that now “Handy” is referring to as the conservatory. It’s still not completely finished but it will be in a few days. Here’s what it looks like now

This Week’s Events
We are working feverishly to put the finishing touches on everything before we host a shower for a family friends daughter in a week.
I’m in a real battle with the deer in my yard. I have never had deer jump the fence and go into my vegetable garden. Well that has happened this year and I’m furious. I’m close to hanging a hammock in the garden and camping out to protect my veggies.

I’m always anxious for the next upcoming season. Christmas is the Season where I work the hardest to make it magical. If you’re looking for some inspiration you can find it here.
Things That I Found Interesting This Week
- Behr Paint has announced it’s 2026 Color of the Year “Hidden Gem” is a beautiful moody shade of green. While most of my home doesn’t really lend itself to this trend, I’m in love with it and thinking of finding a way to add it to our spare bedroom.
- I recently discovered Laura Chubineh who styles award-winning tablescapes. She is truly talented. I found her in an article in Cottages and Bungalows.
Behind the scenes
Hi, I’m Lynn
I traded corporate life for cozy living and now share how to make small spaces feel beautifully intentional.
With a love of vintage finds, organized chaos (emphasis on organized), and a handy husband who builds my wild ideas, I’m here to show that living large isn’t about square feet—it’s about heart, style, and good bones.

I really like your posts.
Your grandbaby is a doll!
Thank you so much Tracey – You are so sweet! Thanks for being here.
Have u tried an electric fence around your garden? We have dreadful deer intrusion and we have 3 areas that we use the “gentle zap” barrier for. Typically used in farming but really is helpful to us in the suburbs.
Hi Mary – We can’t have fences but this might be an option since I know many people have them for their dogs. I’m going to have to look into that. Great idea!
