Home Decor Books Make a Great Gift
Gifting a Book!
Giving the gift of a book is one of my favorite things. I write something on the inside with the date and the occasion. It’s so personal.
Home Decor books make a great gift!
Giving a great decorating book for the holidays, a birthday or just because is such a good idea. If you have someone on your list who enjoys looking through beautiful books about decorating, organizing, styling and gardening (outdoor decor) then you can’t go wrong with a lovely book.
I personally also use my books as part of my home decorating. My shelves, tables and countertops all have stacks of books on them.
We are having a quiet Christmas season this year and I can’t wait to grab some decorating and gardening books from my shelves and snuggle up with a cup of coffee, in front of the fireplace and look through them. They give me inspiration. For me a book is like a trip to a beautiful place. For an hour of so, I’m on vacation!
Home Decorating Books
“Cozy White Cottage” & “Cozy White Cottage – Seasons” by Liz Galvan
I’m currently reading the second book in the Cozy Series by Liz Galvan. It’s different than her first book “Cozy White Cottage”. It is broken down into seasons and she includes crafts, recipes and great seasonal ideas in this book. It is also photographed and printed on a different type of paper so it has an old time feel to it that is cozy in itself.
“French Vintage Décor” by Jamie Lundstrom
This book is probably my new favorite as it is easy, elegant DIY projects. I really want to add vintage French décor to my home when I take the Christmas down and refresh my home for spring. Yes, my style is changing yet again and I can’t wait to share my projects with you in the new year.
Home Organization Books
“Beautifully Organized” by Nikki Boyd
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know that I love to organize and be organized. Nikki’s book is just beautiful and her tips and tricks are everything that works. I’m a great organizer but I still learn and get inspired by this book. Her home and organization are definitely #homegoals for me!
“The Home Edit” by Clea Shearer & Joanna Teplin
I had this book and read it cover to cover long before Clea & Joanna had a show on Netflix. By the way, these two ladies are hilarious. If you haven’t watched Season #1 – add it to your bing list.
They also have great tips and tricks and their style matches well with my style. A little more laid back. Their newest book is on my wishlist and I can’t wait until Season #2 of their TV Show.
Beautiful Cookbooks
I consider my cookbooks to be in the same category as my decor books. Honestly, I get my recipes online but I still enjoy looking through cookbooks for ideas for my own homegrown recipes. They also give me inspiration for meal planning.
“Magnolia Table” Volume 1 & 2 by Joanna Gaines
Joanna Gaines cookbooks are not only visually appetizing but her recipes are actually very yummy. We must have similar palates because I love just about everything she cooks.
“Gather at Home” by Monika Hibbs
I fell in love with this book when I discovered the store etúHome in Atlanta, GA. Emma and I stopped in not once but twice when we were there for the Haven Conference. The book is both recipes and DIY projects. It is also broken up into season appropriate faire. The cover is what I initially fell in love with and the inside is as lovely as the outside. PS – Emma bought it for me for my birthday. What an amazing gift.
Garden Decor Books
The outdoors is an extension of our living space in this small house. Consequently, my outdoor living spaces and gardens are very much a part of me and my design aesthetics. I pour over gardening books all year long. Because a garden is a living, breathing space; it is constantly changing. I’m always trying to be on top of my garden; before, during and after the gardening season.
“The Layered Garden” by David L. Culp
The gardens surrounding this cottage in Pennsylvania are beyond amazing. While I will never have the terrain or the property to have the same beauty, I get little ideas and helpful hints for adding interest and layers to my gardens.
“Peonies” by Jane Eastoe
I absolutely love peonies and have many in my garden. I try to add a new variety every year and this beautiful book is what I use as my guide. If I had a wish it would be that peonies bloomed all season long!
I know that just about everyone I love enjoys a beautiful book. I know this because I do leave my books out as decor in my home and someone is always picking them up and thumbing through them.

Peace,
My friend Cindy is also sharing her decorating books this week. Great minds… Please stop by and visit her at Reinvented Delaware or click the button below to take you right to her blog. She is a really talented lady and you’ll want to hang around and look at her crafts and the pieces of furniture that she has “reinvented” into beautiful treasures.
What a great list of books Lynn! I’m with you on using books to decorate. In fact, stacks of books decorate my nightstand, next to my chair in the living room, in the bathroom… you get the idea! Thanks for linking to our book review post! Great minds do think alike!????
Thanks Cindy – I never get tired of my books. I have so many that I have to rotate them 🙂
