Latest From Living Large: They Are Home

The kids have moved! They got here around 5:00 pm on Friday with both their cars completely packed. The movers also filled a whole truck, so I’m not sure how they will fit everything into their tiny apartment in the city.

I’m going to have to use all my skills of organizing and clever furniture use to work. I plan to take you along for the journey of how we make this a cute little nest.

A smiling couple takes a selfie in front of their latest home, with a large red "SOLD" sign in the yard. The white house features a covered porch and green lawn, marking their exciting new beginning.

What’s Been Happening This Week

Truth be told, I’ve been hanging on by a thread. Taking care of a smart, busy 2-year-old is not for the faint of heart. The minute he was asleep, I was right behind him. He also doesn’t always sleep through the night so our nights were as rough as the days!!

I did discover that the library is a great place to bring a young child. Other grandmas know the secret too because there were more of us than moms. The parking lot, not so much, as our little prince decided to throw a fit in the middle of the road on our way out one day.

What I’m Up to Next Week

We will have the kids here for three more weeks, as they can’t move into the apartment until May 1st, but most days I won’t be alone taking care of Harrison. Tommy is also planning to take the little guy to NYC to visit his mom (Nana) at some point.

Since our home is filled with stuff from the kids, I’m hoping to get the front porch cleaned and spring-ready. I also want to get into the greenhouse and turn it into a fun spring plant playground. These two chores will make me feel like I’m being productive and have some control over my surroundings.

When you have a brain that works like mine, clutter and chaos stress me out. But this too shall pass, and we will have our house back and our kids nearby. Something I’ve been longing for.

A living room filled with stacked moving boxes, packing supplies, and household items features the latest sturdy dolly nearby. The kitchen area is partially visible in the background, and the space appears ready for a move.

Good News I Would Like to Share

  • Did anyone watch the Artemis II crew splashing down in the Pacific Ocean? It’s pretty mind-boggling how they can do what they do to get into space and then get back to Earth.
  • I just love this story about 3 elderly nuns who escaped from the nursing home where they were placed against their will.
  • This story is about a brave 12-year-old who runs into a burning home to save her brothers.

Just goes to show that both the young and the old and the in-between can be strong and brave!

A peek into my life

Lynn’s Recollections & Reflections

I have a little series that started out as a journal of sorts for my kids to have about my life. It became something more.

It’s a place where I share a very personal look into my life and believe it or not have helped some people get out of unhealthy situations.

It’s a work of fiction as it relates to others as it is my recollections of events. I hope you enjoy!

  1. Thanks for the nuns’ story. The 3 elderly nun story brought some good and not so good memories having gone to Catholic grammar & high school. The 3 nuns are strong ladies and the support from the “civilians” is admirable. Stand strong. Their bishop is wrong.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed that story. I thought it was so heartfelt that they are now back in their “home”.
