Latest At Living Large: Enjoying the Rest of the Summer

We have been working on the greenhouse since Early April, and we also hosted a shower for a family friend last weekend. Now we are taking it easy for the rest of the summer.

I did spend this past week cleaning up my kitchen, and it feels wonderful to have it back to normal.

A cozy, glass-paneled garden shed glows warmly at dusk. The open double doors reveal a rustic interior with shelves, plants, hanging lights, and a small table and chair, surrounded by potted plants and trees.

This Week’s Events

This week, I am turning my house from Summer to Fall. It means taking everything off the shelves, deep cleaning, storing what I won’t use and putting back a new fall look.

I love fall. I can’t wait to wear fall clothes and start a cozy fire in the fireplace. How about you, are you ready? We’ve had what seemed like a brutally hot summer (maybe because we were working outside all the time). I’m looking forward to the days cooling down and the nights being much cooler. Opening up the windows and airing out the house will be a joy!

It’s my birthday next weekend and we have another bridal shower. Our friends from Wisconsin are coming, and we can’t wait to see them.

Things That I Found Interesting This Week

  • I used a company called Urban Stems to send flowers to a friend this week. I was impressed by the variety of unique floral designs. It’s not your typical FTD arrangement.
  • One of the best Vintage Markets I’ve ever been to is happening in Michigan the weekend of August 29th. I would be there if I wasn’t heading to Texas to visit my daughter and her family. If you are interested, head to the Mercantile Market HERE.
  • I love the East Coast but have never been there in the fall. On my bucket list is to head to Maine and Vermont when the leaves are changing. I found this wonderful website that tells you when the best time to visit in the fall is. You can find it HERE.

Behind the scenes

Hi, I’m Lynn

I traded corporate life for cozy living and now share how to make small spaces feel beautifully intentional.

With a love of vintage finds, organized chaos (emphasis on organized), and a handy husband who builds my wild ideas, I’m here to show that living large isn’t about square feet—it’s about heart, style, and good bones.

An older woman in a summer capsule wardrobe—white shirt, blue overalls, and gardening gloves—stands on grass, digging with a shovel among lush green plants and pink flowers. Trees and a white trellis frame the vibrant outdoor scene.

A dark blue background with a subtle, wavy abstract line pattern running across the center, reminiscent of the flowing creativity often found when living large in a small house.
