Latest From Living Large: Be the First to Know
Welcome everyone, and I hope you had a great week! I want you to be the first to know about a new project going on at the Small House.
If you didn’t read my email from yesterday, I also want you to be the first to finish your holiday shopping early. I’m creating a daily gift guide Monday – Friday and then summarizing it in my Saturday shopping post from now through early December.

What’s Been Happening This Week
Other than two doctor appointments this week, I was mostly in the house during the week. It’s been typical November weather: cloudy, rainy, windy, and much cooler than it has been. These are the kind of days when I truly appreciate my hot coffee, a lit candle, and a really cozy throw in the morning. Also, I hate that it’s completely dark by me at 5 pm. 🙁
We brought our boat to storage on Friday, which is another nod to the end of a season. We had a lot of fun on the boat this summer and used it more than we have in years.
On Saturday we went to Wisconsin to go out to dinner with our dear friends Barb and Dennis. We tried a new supper club (The Copper Dock in Hubertus, WI) that they have been to before to eat, but we have only been there to have a drink once with my sister and brother-in-law. The food was delicious.
We stayed overnight since it’s about an hour and a half drive to their house, and then we drove another half hour further north to the supper club. We stayed up later than normal, playing our favorite game, “Sequence,” and laughing like little kids.
The First To Know
Oh yes, I left you hanging there. We have a couple of big projects happening at the Small House (when don’t we?). I’m able to share with you about one of them. Drum roll, please…
We are updating our primary bedroom. Our room has always been a second thought. We’ve done some remodeling here and there, but it wasn’t to make our room prettier; it was about functionality. We finally have agreed on a plan, and we are completely making our primary bedroom a beautiful sanctuary. I have asked AI to help me with a concept plan, and it’s pretty wonderful. The reality is the room is smaller than the renderings, but it’s a good way to visualize what we want to do.

The entire project has been inspired by an old French tapestry that I found at an estate sale when I was in Los Angeles last fall. I paid $20 for it. Keith will probably soon say that it’s the most expensive $20 I’ve ever spent. AI did a pretty good job of reproducing it above the fireplace.

A peek into my life
Lynn’s Recollections & Reflections
I have a little series that started out as a journal of sorts for my kids to have about my life. It became something more.
It’s a place where I share a very personal look into my life and believe it or not have helped some people get out of unhealthy situations.
It’s a work of fiction as it relates to others as it is my recollections of events. I hope you enjoy!
