Latest From Living Large: Thanksgiving at Our House

We are actually celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend with our kids. On the actual Thanksgiving Day, Emma will be in Europe traveling with a friend. Tommy and Harrison will be in Atlanta at his sister’s home. It’s a tradition for him to be with his family at Thanksgiving. Annie can’t go with them. She’s off from work on Thanksgiving but has to be in the office at 6:00 am Friday morning. The news never gets a vacation. We are going to go to Chicago on the actual Thanksgiving day and help Annie decorate her Christmas tree. I think we will order Chinese.

What’s Been Happening This Week

This was a normal week for us in the small house. I worked in the yard almost every day, planting bulbs, some new peony roots, and transplanting foxglove I had been growing in a raised bed all summer. If you remember, our river flooded this past spring, and my gardens were under water for about a week. I lost numerous plants.

I spent a good amount of time in my office, and I also worked around the house doing a few projects and getting ready for our Thanksgiving dinner. Our house is in transition. I added a few Halloween things (which I never do) for Harrison, and we are still in full fall mode.

After this weekend, I will be transforming the house into Christmas.

Good News I Want to Share

  • This is quite the story of new love almost lost! This week’s feel-good read.
  • The book club I’m in tends to read books that I would never pick. It’s actually a good thing because I’ve been reading some books that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed that I never would have chosen. This week I read The Stranger by Harlan Coben. Usually I have a hunch about how things are going to turn out in a book; this one had me guessing the whole time. #1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense Harlan Coben delivers his most shocking thriller yet, proving that a well-placed lie can help build a wonderful life—and a secret has the same explosive power to destroy it.
  • If you don’t know Erin from Floret Flower Garden, I’m going to introduce you and encourage you to watch this little workshop that she presents. If you’ve ever wanted to start a garden, expand your garden, or recoup some of your costs of your garden.

Lynn’s Recollections & Reflections

I have a little series that started out as a journal of sorts for my kids to have about my life. It became something more.

It’s a place where I share a very personal look into my life and believe it or not have helped some people get out of unhealthy situations.

It’s a work of fiction as it relates to others as it is my recollections of events. I hope you enjoy!
