How to Find the Best Black Friday Deals?

Does anyone still go out and shop on Black Friday? I did it once and vowed to never do it again.

I get the same deals from the comfort of my sofa, in my pjs, with my coffee right beside me. Running from store to store is just a click away on my keyboard.

But how do you know if you’re getting the best deal? I’ll show you how I comparison shop!

On my blog Living Large in A Small House, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link. You can find my full Disclosure Policy HERE

Is There Really a Black Friday Anymore?

Sales have been happening since the beginning of October and it’s hard to know if you’re getting a great deal.

My Tricks for Getting the Best Price

I start with a Google search for what I’m looking for and a string of the items your looking for at a variety of stores pops up.

Here I put in a search for an Apple Watch SE (2nd) generation. I find prices from Best Buy, Walmart, and Target. Walmart seems to have the best price so I click on that link.

Screenshot of a Google search for an Apple Watch showcasing various options with prices. A circular mark highlights the lowest price at 9 from Walmart, hinting it might rival upcoming Black Friday deals. Arrows and text indicate "Google Search for an Apple Watch" and "Cheapest Price".

What’s interesting is that is $160.00 yesterday so I had already put it in my cart. At Walmart my cart did not reflect this lower price so I had to add the $149.00 watch and delete the $160.00 watch.

This Google search method is a great way to view a bunch of options at one time. To the right of that line of watches you can see another arrow, this allows you to look at even more options. That being said, I’ve found that the best deals from the most reputable stores tend to show up in the first couple of lines.

My Amazon Cart

I add almost everything I’m looking for to my Amazon cart as well. The beauty of the Amazon cart is that if the price goes down, it reflects that in the item in the cart.

Being a prime member also allows me the fasted, FREE delivery on my purchases. Side Note: I’m also enjoying all the great Christmas movies and TV shows Prime has to offer with my membership.

I store all my photos for FREE with my membership. Music and Audiobooks are also FREE. There are even more benefits available to prime members. The best of all in my opinion is being able to get all the deals on Prime Days!

Other Carts

I’ve also added things to carts at stores where I can’t get the item through Amazon. I will keep an eye on them to see if any price drops are reflected in the cart.

What to Buy on Friday

Friday is still traditionally the best day to make purchases on TV’s an other electronics. So I think you can safely wait until Friday to make those purchases.

Don’t forget that the deals continue through Cyber Monday!
