How to Make Your Own Cleaning Products

By living large in a small house

Organizing | Cleaning

Tired of harsh chemicals and expensive cleaning products? Ditch the store-bought stuff and embrace the power of natural cleaners! With a few simple household items, you can tackle grime, grease, and dirt, leaving your home sparkling and saving money.

This powerhouse cleaner is perfect for countertops, floors, and even appliances. Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. For extra cleaning power, add 10 drops of your favorite essential oil (lemon, lavender, or tea tree are great choices). Remember, always test a small area before applying liberally

For stubborn grease on stovetops and ovens, baking soda is your friend. Make a paste with baking soda and water, apply it to the greasy area, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Scrub with a damp cloth and rinse clean. Baking soda also works wonders on burnt-on pots and pans!.

For streak-free windows and mirrors, ditch the commercial sprays. Mix 2 cups of water with 1 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. This homemade cleaner will leave your glass surfaces gleaming!

For everyday cleaning of hardwood floors, skip the harsh chemicals. Mix 1/2 cup white vinegar with a gallon of warm water in a bucket. Mop as usual, making sure the mop is damp, not soaked.  Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and will leave your floors sparkling clean.
