Two Things I’m Doing to Create Less Stress in my Life

| |

I want to share with you two things I’m doing to create less stress in my life.  I’m taking advantage of two services that are quite frankly saving me both time and money. Less Stress!

Stitch Fix

The first is StitchfixI actually got my third “fix” right after Christmas and I have to tell you it’s been a lifesaver for me.  I truly hate to shop for clothing. It stresses me out!

With Stitchfix you have your own personal shopper who chooses outfits for you.  Before you get your first “fix” they ask you quite a few questions to help them get a sense of your style. So far my stylist has been pretty much spot on with her choices for me.  I’ve actually only returned one top and a scarf.  What I really like about it is that she has picked items for me that I would never have picked myself.  Trying the outfits on in the privacy of my own home has lead me to be more adventurous with my look.

My adult daughters have positively commented on my outfits.  High praise – trust me!  I currently get a “fix” every three months.  Now that I’m enjoying my new look, it’s hard to put on my old black & white staples. It’s so fun when the box shows up on my doorstep exactly when promised. As a result – Less Stress!

Less Stress Meals
Pictures of some of the “less-stress” meals we have prepared from Blue Apron

Blue Apron is the other “less-stress” service we starting in the new year.  When “warned” by others that there is still quite a bit of prep work I was not the least bit phased.  I love to cook. What I don’t love to do is decide what to make every night and then go to the grocery store (almost daily) to make sure that I have all of the ingredients.  This service delivers 3 meals for 2 people each week.  Blue Apron is saving us money and we are not throwing out leftovers.  It’s such a Joy!  UPDATE February 12, 2017 – I’ve switched to a new service starting this week.  The meals from Blue Apron were just a bit too exciting for Handy.  I’ll update you after we give this new service a try.

My initial concern was that Handy,  who is pretty much a meat and potato guy, wouldn’t like the “exotic” menu.  So far – Somewhat good.  I have loved every single meal and Handy has at least given everything a try.  We’ve learned that what we used to prepare was way more food than we needed!  If our youngest happens to be home (which isn’t very often) I just add one more piece of the main ingredient and so far we have had enough food for the three of us.

With all the uncertainty of things, I’m happy to report that we are “Living Large in A Small House” and loving two new “less-stress” services!

Peace,

Sharing is caring!
