Latest At Living Large: Black Friday

My newsletter is early because I wanted you all to get my Black Friday post. If you are like me and want to shop from the comfort of your own home today, I have some tips and tricks for how to find the lowest prices for your items.

I also have done the leg work for you on some of the items that I’m shopping for this year.

A stack of pastel-colored gift boxes, mostly in beige, blue, and cream, each tied with ribbons and bows. Perfect for Living Large in A Small House, these polka dot boxes are neatly arranged against a white background.

On my blog Living Large in A Small House, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link. You can find my full Disclosure Policy HERE

This Week’s Events

I hope your Thanksgiving was great! Ours was very quiet. Except for the wind whistling through the plywood that is still in our window openings in the great room. I turn on all the light, light a fire in the fireplace, and also burn some candles to try to “warm up” the room. It’s actually getting depressing, especially since our weather has been cloudy, rainy, and gray.

Emma is home for the long weekend, and we went to visit Keith’s mom, who is recovering from a hip fracture.

Fingers crossed that the windows come in this week and the weather cooperates for them to get installed.

I did finish my tree in the great room and the fireplace mantel. I also finished the tree on our primary bedroom balcony. I’m absolutely in love with it. It’s filled with both vintage/antique and new shiny bright ornaments. I also added glass bead garland. It just sparkles. I can’t imagine how lovely it will look once there are windows behind it instead of wood.

My goal for this week is to get the tree in my office decorated. I also want to get the fun gold tinsel tree (very old) that I found, decorated in Emma’s room.

Holiday entertaining starts the weekend of December 12th for us, so I will be taking off sometime until the first of the year.

I’m always anxious for the next upcoming season. Christmas is the Season where I work the hardest to make it magical. If you’re looking for some inspiration you can find it here.

Things That I Found Interesting This Week

  • I planted my paper whites this last week and I found out that if you add vodka to water you put into your vessel, your flowers won’t droop. I’m skeptical, but I’m going to give it a try. My friend Michele of Vintage Home Designs has the directions HERE.
  • I just found the cutest little on-line shop (based out of Colorado). It’s a women-owned business and the price point of her interior decor is amazing. Stop by today and support small business. You can find Interior Delight HERE. This is not sponsored in any way. I just think it’s a great little business.
